United Methodist Women

A tradition of faith and fellowship

The UMW of Newfoundland has a tradition of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in our community for more than a hundred years. All women of the church, as well as their guests and neighbors, are welcomed and encouraged to participate as we strive to share the love of Christ in our homes, our church, our community, and our world.

The UMW circles have regularly scheduled gatherings from September through June to support and strengthen us as individuals, draw us nearer to one another and ultimately bring us closer to the realization of God’s love. Each group features an activity such as Bible study or mission projects aimed at helping us to see and know God in the midst of our daily lives. Our gatherings are comfortable and casual with lots of time for fellowship and laughter.

The AM Women's Circle meets the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month from September through June at 8:00am. This is a Bible Study and prayer based group.

The Serenity Circle is mission oriented and meets the 3rd Thursday of every month from September through June at 12:30pm in the church library. Childcare is available upon request.

The Gardening Circle meets in the spring and in the fall for the annual planting, weeding, and clean-up of the church gardens. They are the ones keeping our church gardens beautifully groomed all summer long and into the fall. All are welcome. You can join at anytime. Please come for the fellowship and to enjoy your contribution to the beautification of our church.

We continue to investigate new ideas for additional circles based on varying schedules and interests.

The UMW is dedicated to supporting the mission of the church both locally and abroad. This is accomplished through special events and fundraisers held throughout the course of the year. We are always open and receptive to new opportunities.

Please join us as we keep the tradition of faithfulness alive and continue to grow through our prayers, our gifts, and our presence.
