Book Clubs

The church offers a daytime and evening book club that is open to anyone in the community who is interested. Each of our book clubs provides fellowship, the opportunity to explore different types of literature and great discussions! The books are selected on a rotating basis by those who attend and the person who selects the book usually provides the refreshments for that meeting. If you would like to talk to someone or want more information about either club contact Tory Ross at 973-697-9288 or email her by clicking on her name here: Tory

The Good Books Lunch Group

First Thursday of the Month at 12:30

The February selection for the lunch club is “The Sugar Queen” by Sarah Addison Allen. It is a magical tale of friendship, love and forgiveness that tells the tale of a young woman whose family secrets are about to change her life forever. The discussion will be in the library on February 4th at 12:30pm. All you need to bring is a bag lunch. Beverages and desserts will be provided.

The Evening Books Group

First Tuesday of the Month at 7 pm

For February we will be reading one of the classics: “The House of the Seven Gables is Nathaniel Hawthorne’s tale about the brooding hold of the past over the present is a complex one, twisting and turning its way back through many generations of a venerable New England family, one of whose members was accused of witchcraft in 17th century Salem. More than 200 years later, we meet the family in its decaying, gabled mansion, still haunted by the presence of dead ancestors: Hepzibah, an elderly gentlewoman fallen on hard times; her ineffectual brother, Clifford; and young Phoebe, a country maiden who cheerfully takes it upon herself to care for her two doddering relations. The discussion will be held in the church library on February 2nd at 7:30pm Beverages and snacks will be provided.
